I don't teach leadership from a textbook. I share what I learned doing it — inside five major technology disruptions, across boardrooms and operating roles, from startup to exit. If it keeps coming up in real conversations with leaders, I turn it into content.
I've spent my career inside disruptions — not studying them, not advising on them from the outside, but leading teams through them when the stakes were real and the playbook didn't exist yet.
Every chapter taught me something different. Healthcare taught me how entrenched systems resist change. Ticketing taught me what happens when you digitize something people thought couldn't be digitized. Airline reservations at HP taught me how to transform at enterprise scale. Cloud at NTT taught me what it takes to move an entire industry from hardware to infrastructure-as-a-service.
Insight Partners gave me something rare — the investor's lens. I worked directly with CEOs and C-suite teams across dozens of portfolio companies, learning what separates a good exit from a great one while sitting on multiple boards.
Now I'm back in the operator seat. As CEO at talent.com, I'm leading the company through an AI-first transformation — the biggest platform shift I've seen in three decades. The technology is the easy part. Getting people to embrace it, use it, and adapt around it is the real work.
THE STORY
“I didn’t predict the future. I learned to recognize the patterns that were already there — and act before the consensus did.”
Everything I share through Own Your Ambitions comes from this experience. Not theory. Not frameworks. I talk to stuck executives every day. CEOs, C-suite leaders, VPs — same talent, same work ethic, same frustration. The patterns are unmistakable. I turn those conversations into content because if the answer worked for the person sitting across from me, it'll work for the thousands I'll never get to meet.
THE DISRUPTION RECEIPTS
Six chapters. One through-line: be there before the consensus.
01
Transformed physician office systems into hospital partnership and reimbursement models. First lesson: entrenched systems don't change because someone asks nicely.
Healthcare
02
Helped build the first system combining point-of-sale for food and ticketing with putting movie tickets online. People said it couldn't be digitized. It could.
Ticketing & POS
03
Transformed airline reservation systems to electronic tickets. Enterprise-scale transformation with zero room for error.
Airline Reservations — HP
04
Rewired the entire go-to-market — from selling hardware boxes to delivering cloud infrastructure as a subscription. Different product, different pricing, different sale.
Cloud — NTT / Dimension Data
Operating Partner. Worked directly with portfolio company CEOs and C-suite teams to scale from growth stage to exit — while learning investor patterns firsthand. The chapter that gave me both sides of the table.
05
Scale to Exit — Insight Partners
06
Board Chair and CEO. Leading an AI-first internal transformation and launching the company's first AI-first enterprise product line. The biggest platform shift yet.
AI — talent.com
II created Own Your Ambitions because I didn't have this advice when I needed it — and I had to learn most of it the hard way. Through mistakes. Through asking the wrong questions. Through not knowing what I didn't know until it cost me something.
Not everyone has a mentor who's been where they want to go. Not everyone has someone in their corner who will tell them the real thing instead of the safe thing. That's the gap I'm trying to close.
WHY OWN YOUR AMBITIONS EXISTS
This is how I give back. Every video, every post, every conversation I turn into content exists for one reason: to help someone I may never meet get to where they're going a little faster — with fewer of the mistakes I made along the way.
I'm not selling a system. I'm sharing what I've learned because it worked — and if it helped the person sitting across from me, it'll help someone else too. That's it. That's the whole point.
Own Your Ambitions — no one's going to do it for you.
